Pairing wine, food and philanthropy at CabFest Napa Valley

Join us this weekend, March 4-6, for a three-day celebration of world class Cabernet Sauvignon at CabFest Napa Valley. Spiriterra wins 2 Gold medals and Best of Class at the 2015 North Coast Wine Challenge

For the second year in a row we are pleased to announce that our Cabernet Sauvignon has won Gold in the only competition focused exclusively on the finest wines produced and bottled within California’s North Coast AVAs. This year’s medal goes to our 2012 Cabernet Sauvignon, earning 93 points for Cabernets priced $40-$75.

Happy Earth Day! How are we contributing?

We believe that healthy lands lead to higher quality grapes which lead to better wine. As a privately-owned estate we retain complete control over vineyard management, and we are doing our best to positively contribute to this spectacular landscape. This begins with minimizing our footprint on the land. Presently only four acres of our 54-acre estate are dedicated to viticulture, leaving plenty of space for wildlife to travel freely for food, shelter, and water.

Spiriterra Vineyards Offers Premiere Napa Valley’s First Muscadine Wine

Premiere Napa Valley recently released its 2015 wine auction offerings and trade members were likely surprised to see a Napa Valley Muscadine wine on the list.

“We are excited to pour a completely new sweet, white wine at this already innovative, one-of-a-kind wine trade industry event,” said Spiriterra proprietor Paul Dean.

Spiriterra Vineyards receives 2014 Wine Industry Award

Our muscadine vineyard made headlines last Tuesday as recipient of North Bay Business Journal's vineyard innovation award. The journal received nominations from industry professionals and selected nine companies and professionals for their significant contributions to the wine industry.

Napa Wine Project finds rare wine experience at Spiriterra Vineyards

Napa Wine Project's Dave Thompson thinks Spiriterra may be producing Napa Valley's most unique varietal. As the only producer of Muscadine wine he may be right.

It was fun for us to provide a wine veteran such as himself with a totally new vineyard experience.

Spiriterra’s Cabernet Sauvignon named one of 11 great Napa Cabs from 2011

Wine Searchers’s W. Blake Gray recently named our first release Cabernet Sauvignon one of 11 great Napa Cabernets from 2011. “It was restrained and complex and interesting and I thought I could drink deep into the bottle...Too bad there were only 120 cases made,” said Gray.

Spiriterra Vineyards Brings a Taste of the South to Napa Valley

Muscadine wine has long been a front-porch sipping favorite of the South. The history of this native grape dates back to the 1500s and was among the first wine grapes planted by Thomas Jefferson in his vineyards in Monticello. However, ask someone in Napa Valley if they have heard of or tried muscadine wine before and you might get some funny looks. This didn’t stop my father from dedicating half of our vineyards to the grape in 2009.

Auction Napa Valley 2014 kicks off

As a newbie to Auction Napa Valley I'm excited for the four-day party to start. I'll probably be doing more wine drinking than actual bidding, but I hear even spectating the bidding process can be a rush. It's not every day a bottle of wine goes for $500,000. Hey, it's for a great cause!

Spiriterra's 2011 Cabernet Sauvignon wins gold

We are excited to announce our 2011 Cabernet Sauvignon received a Gold Medal (94 points) in the Press Democrat 2014 North Coast Wine Challenge for Cabernet Sauvignons in the $40-$75 category. It was the only 2011 Cabernet Sauvignon from Napa Valley to win this gold medal honor.
